365 Project – February 2012

Every time February comes, I see hearts all over.  Not that I feel all giddy with love but its what you see every time you go to the mall or on the billboards. Aside from that, you get to listen to all the mushy love songs on the radio and love stories on the television.

Well, you won’t see any hearts on my pictures hehe. 🙂 I spent the month doing loads of school stuff and a bit of traveling here and there. I also did get to see a friend I haven’t seen for the last 10 years and we had fun reminiscing about the good ol’ times and catching up on each others lives. True friendship remains even when you are apart.

Okay, I admit. Food and travel make my heart flutter and I guess my month is full of hearts after all. ♥

Meandering in Bangkok

I have always loved Thailand mostly because of the food, the culture and the shopping. On my first visit to Bangkok, I visited some temples and enjoyed shopping a LOT! On the second visit, I still went to the night markets but mostly to buy souvenirs for folks back home and to visit some temples. On my third visit last January, my goal was to do the things I missed on my first two visits. 🙂

My first goal was to go to the floating market. For convenience, I joined a tour going to the Damnoen Saduak floating market which is in the province of Ratchaburi.

There is a series of canals where the boats can roam around and there are stalls on either side.

Some sell stuff on the stalls while others peddle on the boat. You can buy an assortment of stuff like decorations, clothes, paintings, food and even plants!

We had some time to kill before going back to the city and the tour guide asked if anyone wants to go on an elephant ride. YES! We went to the Elephant Village a few minutes away from the floating market.

I was sooooo excited that I will be able to ride an elephant ( my second goal for the trip) and be able to do one thing on my bucket list, hooray!

My last goal is to check out the temples. I went to Wat Arun and revisited Wat Phra Kaeo and The Grand Palace.

There are still a couple of things that I want to visit and all I can say is, I’ll see you again Bangkok!

365 Project – January 2012

Before 2011 ended, I drafted my resolution for the year to come. One of my new year’s resolution is to post a photo everyday for the year 2012. For convenience, I shoot photos with an iPod touch and use Instagram to add some effects on the photo. I am happy to say that I was able to stick with it up until today 🙂

Here are the pictures for the month of January.

I was excited to start this project and at the same time determined to succeed. It was challenging on the first few days as I was still trying to establish my rules regarding the project. Pictures for January 1, 3 and 5 were actually old pictures that I processed on the said dates using Instagram. Finally, I stick to the rule that instead of just posting a photo everyday, I will TAKE a photo everyday for the year 2012. The pictures I took represent something that I did on that day.  Some days I have to rack brain on how to take a creative shot and then there are days when I have loads of shots but I have to choose just one.

January was a challenging but a fun month. I completed my practicum on the second week of January, I enjoyed the Sinulog celebration, travelled to Thailand to relax and met up with a friend who I haven’t seen for the past 2 years. It’s a great way to start the year!
