Weekly Photo Challenge: Renewal

Renewal is a process of renewing, of making something new, of restoring the vigor or simply to begin again. Everyday, we are given several chances to correct mistakes or errors that we made. If you can correct it, great! But if you can’t, then learn from that mistake. As the sun rises to a brand new day, always remember that life has given you another chance to live and fulfill your dreams.

Weekly Writing Challenge: The Photo

It was autumn of 1942, it was Dad’s birthday and Mum took a photo of us before going to church. Life was good back then when we were all together. Dad would go to work from 8 to 5, Mum would stay home, my brother Nick was going to school and I stay at home with Mum since I was too young to go to school.

Everything was perfect until Dad was drafted to fight in the war. A few months after, he died. This photo is the last one I ever had of my Dad. It reminds me so much of the times we spent together as a family. Life was perfect.

Everything changed since then. Times were tough and we tried to survive as a family. Mum was devastated of losing Dad and wasn’t able to recover from the loss. My grandmother came and lived with us. She took care of us.

It’s been 70 years since this photo was taken but I can still remember that day so clearly.

Photo of the Day – St. Patrick’s Cathedral

St. Patrick’s Cathedral is located in Manhattan, New York City. It is a Roman Catholic Church built in 1858 with Neo-Gothic style. During the day, a lot of people visit this place either to attend mass or be on tour to discover the history and beauty inside the church. If you are in the area, why don’t you drop by and say a little prayer?
